MAREA (2022)

A new short animated film by Giulia, about the tide and the ups and downs of life.

Duration: 4'30''
Technique: 2D digital animation

A special family is living on a tiny island and dealing with the ups and downs of their everyday life and of the tide.
Marea talks about balance. The short film aims at demonstrating the fragility of both environmental and social ecosystems. Furthermore, the graphic mechanism illustrates the interaction between the environment and the characters.

A special family of moon guardians is living on a tiny island and dealing with the ups and downs of their everyday life and of the tide. The film depicts the delicate balance between the characters and the environment in which they live.

After "MERLOT", her multi-award-winning graduation film, MAREA is her first professional film and her first Swiss production.

MAREA was developed with the support of Open Workshop, department of The Animation Workshop, Denmark.
MAREA has been produced by Nadasdy film with the support of SRF National Swiss Television, Cinéforom, and Loterie Romande.
Hopefully, it will be touring animation festivals in 2022!
