SPECTATOR - AR INSTALLATION AT THE AARGAUER KUNSTHAUS
The exhibition “Re-MIX” is a cooperation project between the Fantoche International Festival for Animated Film and the art Museum in Aarau.
Animation directors bring works from the Aargauer Kunsthaus to life. The short films offer surprising approaches, they touch and also encourage reflection.
This piece was created for an AR exhibition at the art museum of Aarau, Switzerland (Aargauer Kunsthaus Aarau), in collaboration with the Swiss animation festival Fantoche.
Each animator got to bring to life a painting from the exhibition.
Animation based on the artwork “58 av. J.-C.” (2020) by Caroline Bachmann

Design and direction by Giulia Martinelli
2D Animation by Giulia Martinelli
After Effects animation and Compositing by Miriam Palopoli
Sound Design by Quirijn Dees

In bringing Caroline Bachmann's artwork to life, Giulia reflects on the human role in environmental impact and our often passive, spectator-like approach to global issues. By shifting from an anthropocentric perspective to a more global viewpoint, this animation invites the audience to confront our collective responsibilities and inspires a call to action.
